Monthly Discretionary “Spending” (Hundreds)
Monthly discretionary spending is on the rise. Between 2005 and 2006, the average student had an averaged discretionary spending budget of roughly $180 a month. With discretionary spending on the rise, analysts project a large jump for 2007. Students are projected to spend nearly $400 a month, totaling nearly 23 Billion dollars annually.
